Poor Quinn

OK...this weekend I had my turn purchasing butterfly bandages. I had no nursery gang to hold in suspicion just two rowdy and over-tired little girls. We were getting ready to walk out the door for evening church and I had to run upstairs to get my shoes. I heard the girls playing and fighting over my car keys. Quinn had them, Ella wanted them. The running went up and down our entry way when I heard a distinct thud, afterwards crying. It wasn't a panicked cry, so I figured Ella had successfully stolen the keys from Quinn, but in fact, Quinn had tripped and landed head-long into the corner of our stair banister. As I came down, I found Quinn looking up the staircase with blood trickling down her brow. Naturally, a gasp of surprise hit me and the fear of what did or could have happened rushed over me. I could still see the dent from the corner of the staircase in her head. Praise the Lord she missed her eye!!

Thankfully, the girls were in jackets and ready to go out, so we headed to the nearest store and I literally bandaged Quinn up in the store aisle, then paid for the supplies. The laceration was only about 1/4 of an inch, but deep. So far, it seems to be healing just fine, but we still hope it is awhile before we have any more excitement like this around here.

Note to Self: Start adding butterfly bandages and other first-aid supplies into baby shower gifts (-:

Quinn is not wincing in pain here from her head wound, she is simply stuck in the soup pot and I am taking pictures of her rather than helping her out (-;
